Und das ab sofort. Vorhin nicht schlecht gestaunt, als ich mal auf meinem Galaxy Tab 7.7 den Market geöffnet habe und dort dann links oben ein neues Logo zu sehen war. Bereits vor einigen Tagen hatten wir berichtet, das Google etliche Domain mit dem Begriff Play sich hat reservieren lassen. Jetzt wissen wir warum. Künftig wird es neben Apps auch Bücher, Musik und Videos im Google Play geben. Alles unter einem Dach.
Ansonsten ändert sich erst einmal 
nichts. Zumindest bisher noch nichts offensichtliches.Nach und nach werden auch die entsprechenden Apps wie z.B. der Market, “Books” oder “Music” in “Play Store”, “Play Books” bzw. “Play Music” umbenannt.
Zur Einführung des neuen Namen gibt es unter dem Motto “Play .49€Apps” für kurze Zeit 25 Apps zum Preis von je 49 Cent. Darunter Perlen wie Sprinkle, N.O.V.A. 2, SwiftKeyX, Camera ZOOM FX, Need for Speed™ Hot Pursuit, Asphalt 6: Adrenaline uvm.
Aber zurück zur Market…ähm…Playground oder so ähnlich. In den nächsten Tagen wird es ein Update für alle Androiden ab Froyo geben, der den alten Market entsprechend aktualisiert. Also völliger Unsinn sich jetzt schon irgendwelche gerippten APK zu saugen, die offensichtlich massive Probleme bereiten. Einfach in den “Einstellungen” -> “Anwendungen verwalten” den Market stoppen und den Cache löschen. Nach kurzer Zeit kommt das Update automatisch. Hat bei mir keine Stunde gedauert.
Trotzdem bleibt ein fader Beigeschmack. Von alternativen Bezahlmöglichkeiten wie PayPal fehlt weiterhin jede Spur…

The music, movies, books and apps you’ve purchased will continue to be available to you through Google Play—simply log in with your Google account like always.
