Verkaufsrekord – über 3 Millionen des neuen iPad an einem Wochenende

3.000.000 diese Zahl muss man sich mal vorstellen. Denn so viele will Apple vom neuen iPad der 3. Generation laut Pressemitteilung innerhalb von 3 Tagen seit dem Verkaufsstart am 16. März an den Mann bzw. Frau gebracht haben. Wobei viele Shops und Händler wohl immer noch einiges auf Lager haben, um Kaufwillige versorgen zu können.

Zunächst wollte ich diese Zahl gar nicht glauben, denn wie wir berichtet haben, war der Andrang dieses mal nicht so groß, wie von vielen zunächst vermutet. Trotzdem soll es die mit Abstand erfolgreichste Markteinführung gewesen sein.

Aktuell testen wir ja das neue iPad (Link zum Testbericht) auf ein etwas andere Art und Weise, wie sonst von uns gewohnt. Wir wollen wissen, ob sich der Umstieg vom iPad 1 oder iPad 2 überhaupt lohnt und ob nicht vielleicht Samsung dem Über-Tablet (das ist zumindest der Meinung vieler) Paroli bieten zu können.

Vom iPad 2 wurden vor einem im gleichen Zeitraum von 3 Tagen „nur“ 300.000 Stück verkauft. Die Zahl von 3 Millionen wurde nach 80 Tagen erreicht.

Aber lassen wir mal die Pressesprecherin von Apple, Trudy Muller, zu Wort kommen:

The new iPad is already available in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Switzerland, UK and the US Virgin Islands and will be available in 24 more countries starting at 8:00 a.m. local time on Friday, March 23 through the Apple Online Store (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

The new iPad Wi-Fi models are available in black or white for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16GB model, $599 (US) for the 32GB model, $699 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad Wi-Fi + 4G for either AT&T or Verizon is available for a suggested retail price of $629 (US) for the 16GB model, $729 (US) for the 32GB model and $829 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad is sold in the US through the Apple Online Store (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers. Additionally, the incredible iPad 2 is now offered at a more affordable price of $399 (US) for the 16GB Wi-Fi model and just $529 (US) for the 16GB Wi-Fi + 3G model.

  1. Die Verkäufe an Herr und Frau Anwender kann Apple gar nicht so schnell kennen. Apple Produkte werden ja weltweit trotz eigener Shops mehrheitlich in Elektronik Supermärkten verkauft. Und diese haben wohl anderes zu tun als inner 72 Stunden allesamt ihre Verkaufszahlen nach Cuppertino zu melden.
    Ich gehe davon aus dass es sich hier um die Verkäufe von Apple an Shops und Wiederverkäufer handelt. Wie viele dort jetzt noch liegen wissen die Götter. In jedem Fall aber ist die Zahl mit Vorsicht zu geniessen. Wohl eher ein weiterer PR-Gag um die Aktinkurse zu stützen. Denn die gestrigen überstürzten Ankündigungen einer Dividendenauszahlung und Aktienrückkäufe durch Apple lassen schwer darauf schliessen, dass das Applemanagement neu nicht mehr an Kurssteigerungen durch den erfolgreichen Verkauf von Produkten glaubt, sondern sich langsam den altbewährten Börsen- und Finanztricks bedienen muss..
